The study of all things beyond the Earth and the Earth’s atmosphere.
The universe began with all matter at a very small point and a rapid expansion that is called “The Big Bang”. It was not an explosion “Bang”, but a sudden rapid outward expansion in all directions.
The beginning expansion happened 13.8 billion years ago. It was too hot, 10 billion degrees too hot, for any matter to form, but as it expanded it cooled and within seconds matter formed. Then stars, galaxies, planets, moons, and life formed.
