Neptune is named after the Roman god of the sea. An atmosphere of thick hydrogen, helium, and methane the methane and other gases gives the planet a blue-green appearance.
It has clouds blowing rapidly in bans, Neptune has the fastest supersonic winds in the solar system reaching over 2000 km/hr.
The upper-level clouds temperature is – 218° C
The dark spot in the atmosphere is thought to be a hole in the atmosphere layer much like the hole in Earth’s Ozone layer.
